Sunday 16th November
at the Middleton Hall, University of Hull, Cottingham Road
If you are learning to play the piano, don’t miss this day!
Whether you have a teacher, or are learning by yourself, this day will give you insights for you to take away and develop. There is also an oppotunity to perform yourself on a concert grand piano and to encourage others in their playing.
Our brief presentations are designed to open windows onto techniques and ideas which you can take away.
Meet the composers in their own world, and uncover how to interpret their music in today’s world.
Explore how you can create the sounds you want at the piano with an expert technician’s guide to the inner workings of the piano.
The grand finale of the day will be a special recital by renowned pianist Julian Hellaby.
The day’s programme will be delivered in three sessions: Morning (10:00 – 13:00); Afternoon (14:00 – 17: 00): and Evening (18:00 – 21:00). Each session will focus on a different musical period.
Each session include short presentations and participants will play with expert support.
The cafe will be open throughout the day.
